This study seeks to characterize the social and economic benefits that can be realized in Nigeria and its economic region through advanced education and research in supply chain management. Based on this evidence, it explores alternatives for cultivating sustainable in-country academic capacity in Nigeria. It is anticipated that this feasibility study will provide evidence-based insights to frame the underlying building blocks for a Nigeria Center of Excellence (COE) in supply chain management. Finally, it aims to secure commitments with academic institutions, industry, government and development partners in Nigeria and the region to enable the launch of a new center in the MIT Global SCALE Network.
